Gary Abrojena, Owner Gary Abrojena has owned and operated Evergreen Tree Care of Antioch, California for over 25 years. A family-run business, Gary and his crew have an excellent reputation in the East Bay Area for professionalism, integrity and reliability. Gary's wife, Linda is also an arborist and handles the bookkeeping, and his oldest son, Gary Jr. is the first point of contact in the office. The youngest, Christian, at 8 years old is already climbing trees.
Gary is a certified arborist and is active in the tree care industry, volunteering as a climbing instructor for Western Chapter ISA and for the California Arborist Assoc. of which he completed two years as Vice-President. Gary has also given his time to the Tree Care Industry Expo, Arizona Community Tree Council and Urban Forestry Council.
Gary has been competing since 1993, and has represented the Western Chapter five times at the International level, placing 3rd twice and then 6th in 2001 in Milwaukee. Gary's last competition was in 2003 when he won the Western Chapter Championships and went on to Montreal to compete at age 46. The words "slow down" are not in his vocabulary!
Gary has always had a huge respect and appreciation for trees, and loves competition! He has always strived to improve himself whether it's the craft of arboriculture or the art of tree climbing. He also loves people, and has always done his best to train, mentor and set an example to the next generation of arborists and treeworkers. His motto is "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another".
JARED ABROJENA
Jared is a supervisor, certified Treeworker, climber and a huge asset to the family business, Evergreen Tree Care, located in the East San Francisco Bay Area of California. Jared and his wife Kati have been married over a year and live in Oakley, California.
Jared has competed in 7 Western Chapter competitions. He placed 7th in his very first chapter competition at the age of 15. After waiting until he was 18 years old to compete again, Jared provided strong competition in the chapter. In 2002 at the age of 20, Jared took the Western Chapter Championship against tough opposition, including his dad, Gary) and went to Seattle to represent the Chapter at the ITCC. Jared earned 3rd place in the International competition. In 2004, Jared executed a difficult Master Challenge event to win the Chapter competition again. In 2005 Jared took the Chapter Championship again and competed in the International Competition in Nashville, TN where he won 4th place
Jared has volunteered his time, experience and climbing skills for the Western Chapter ISA, for the California Arborists Association, and for the Arizona Tree Community Tree Council.
